The state House and Economic Development and Workforce Investment has welcomed a new member. Eighth District state Representative Walker Thomas was appointed to the committee earlier this month by Speaker Pro Tempore David Osborne, of Prospect. The committee is responsible for hearing bills that pertain to businesses, job creation, the Kentucky workforce and consumer protection before they are voted on by the full House body.

Thomas says this appointment will enable him to hear and pass bills that seek to improve Kentucky businesses and economic development in the state, especially in his region in western Kentucky.

Thomas is the co-owner of Kentucky Moving and Storage and also has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Austin Peay University.
