A Hopkinsville man taken into custody on a warrant over the weekend is facing additional charges after police say he resisted arrest and was found in possession of drugs. Hopkinsville Police report officers went to a home in the 1000 block of Rose Drive shortly before 1:15 Sunday afternoon to serve a Failure To Appear warrant on 23-year old Dontavious Halfacre.

Police say they were there for several minutes when a vehicle pulled up and Halfacre was a passenger. Officers asked him to get out of the vehicle because they had a warrant. Officers say he eventually exited the vehicle and when officers tried to handcuff him, he pulled away several times. Halfacre was taken into custody and taken to the Christian County Jail where police say jail staff found a small plastic baggie of marijuana in his left pant pocket.

Halfacre was additionally charged with Resisting Arrest, 1st Degree Promoting Contraband, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
