A grand opening is slated for this summer for a new Dollar General store to be located in the Hamtown area. Angela Petkovic with the Dollar General Store Headquarters in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, tells the News Edge a new Dollar General store is being constructed at 1200 Canton Road in Cadiz.
At this time, Petkovic says in a release a grand opening at the Canton Road location is slated for summer 2018, but that construction progress may alter this date. She indicates the store will employ approximately 6 to 10 employees, depending on the individual needs of the store. She adds “anyone interested in joining one of America’s fastest-growing retailers” may apply for available positions online at www.dollargeneral.com/careers.”
When choosing store locations, Petkovic says meeting customers’ needs is Dollar General’s top priority. She adds the comapny looks for places where they can offer customers easy and convenient shopping choice. She notes convenience is a major factor as they generally serve customers within a three to five mile radius, or ten minute drive. She states they also take demographic trends, competitive factors, traffic patterns and community concerns into consideration.
According to Petkovic, Dollar General does not have any additional plans in Trigg County.
