Motorists traveling US 62 in Caldwell County need to be aware the road will be closed beginning Tuesday morning in order to allow crews to clear the site of a landslide that occurred last week. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd says US 62 will be closed at the 16.5 milepoint near the Caldwell-Hopkins County line and is expected to remain closed around the clock for about a week, or longer, to facilitate clearing of the landslide and repair of the road.

The landslide impacts about a 150 foot section of US 62 just west of Dawson Springs. Todd says there will be a marked detour for motorists traveling between Princeton and Dawson Springs.

US 62 has been restricted to one lane at the site since the landslide started last Friday.
