Educators Not Happy With Pension Proposal

As the discussion on pension reform continues in Frankfort, several retired Trigg County educators are speaking out. Six residents joined over one-thousand educators from around Kentucky to share their concerns with legislators. Former Superintendent, Jim Wallace says they sat in on a Senate Committee meeting.

Former Trigg County teachers Charlene Sheehan, Hiler Redd and  Kerry Sweno were also among the six that traveled to Frankfort. Sheehan says teachers are concerned about their futures.

No retired teacher is eligible for their spouses social security.

McGinnis and the others hope that Governor Matt Bevin and the General Assembly stop taking from the education budget and from the pension system and start looking at ways cut tax loopholes and other tax reform measures, like the Governor promised when he campaigned for office.
