Students at Martin Luther King Junior Elementary school were evacuated Monday afternoon for a fire. The Hopkinsville Fire Department was called to the scene just after 2:00pm for smoke showing in the school. Inspector Edwin Long says firefighters found toilet paper on fire in one of the boys’ restrooms.
The building was checked and no other fires were found. If school officials determine who set the fire, the child will likely face school disciplinary action as well as possible criminal charges.
