An Illinois man was arrested on a warrant Monday night after he allegedly stole a Hopkinsville woman's car almost a year ago. Hopkinsville Police charged 19-year old Dana Smith, Jr., of Milwaukee, with Theft By Unlawful Taking Auto – $500 or More But Under $10,000.
On March 14, 2017, according to the arrest warrant, Adams stole a 2006 PT Cruiser. The female victim reported he came to her home in Hopkinsville and when she awoke Adams and her vehicle were gone. Adams was reportedly found in possession of the stolen vehicle in Kankakee, Illinois. Police say the vehicle has been returned to the victim.
Smith was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
