Grant To Enhance Grace And Mercy Education

A Hopkinsville based non-profit organization will receive a donation from a Christian County farmer through the Monsanto Fund. According to a release, Christian County farmer Micah Lester directed Grace and Mercy in Hopkinsville to receive a $2,500 grant.

Grace and Mercy will use the funds to purchase class workbooks and computers. Director Joanna Mack says the donation will make it possible for them to prepare residents for work and transitioning into their new lives. She adds they are grateful to the Lester family and all the farmers who have supported the ministry.

Micah’s father Gary Lester spoke at the annual banquet last Thursday and said he and his family have a real passion for helping those going through the Program.

Since the program began in 2010, the Grow Communities program has partnered with farmers to support nonprofit organizations important to them in their local communities. The program has given more than 29 million dollars to farming communities since it began, including more than 3 million dollars this year.
