Two Additional Tornado Touchdowns Confirmed In Christian

The National Weather Service in Paducah has confirmed two additional tornadoes touched down in Christian County Saturday night. The Storm Survey Team says an EF-0 tornado with peak winds of 85 mph touched down at 8:44pm Saturday between the Pennyrile Parkway and U.S. 41, then crossed Lake Morris and ended on the northwest side of Highway 107/Greenville Road. The path was 5.5 miles and 75 yards wide. At least four barns or sheds suffered roofing and siding damage, one camper trailer was overturned, several trees were uprooted and hundreds of trees suffered broken limbs.

The second additional tornado that touched down in Christian County was also deemed an EF-0, packing peak winds of 65 mph. It touched down along Highway 189 about half a mile from Ovil and one mile west of the Todd County line. It was on the ground for about half a mile and was 50 yards wide. Two  garages and farm buildings had some minor roof damage, and few trees suffered broken limbs.
