The impact caused Gafford's vehicle to hit the rear end of another vehicle driven by 30-year old Bobbie Anderson of Hopkinsville. Police say after Barnes' car went off the road after impact and hit a mailbox at 513 Country Club Lane.

Gafford reportedly told officers she was turned around arguing with her children in the back seat because they were yelling, and when she turned back around to turn the radio down she saw the brake lights of the vehicle in front of her, but was unable to stop.

Police say a passenger in Anderson's vehicle, 24-year old Joyce Hall of Elkton, who is 20 weeks pregnant, complained of head and stomach pain and was transported by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
