Humphries & Westerfield Pleased With Pension Proposal

Two area State Senators say they are anxious to hear from the public about the State Pension Plan that was introduced Tuesday in Kentucky Senate. First District Senator Stan Humphries says retired teachers, state employees and others need to learn more about the plan.

Third District Senator Whitney Westerfield says the plan addresses many of the concerns expressed after a proposal was introduced last fall.

Senator Humphries says there is still plenty of time to deal with the pension plan prior to the end of the General Assembly session.

Senator Westerfield says he thinks the proposal is a good compromise.

The Pension Plan was introduced by Senator Joe Bowen from Owensboro Tuesday afternoon, with legislative leaders holding a news conference Wednesday morning at the State Capitol in Frankfort to share more details.
