Burglary Call Leads To Arrest Of Man Wanted In Trigg

A man wanted on a Trigg County warrant was arrested in Marshall County Friday for possessing meth. The Marshall County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to a burglary in progress in Gilbertsville. Before officers arrived the suspects left the residence in a vehicle, which was located a short time later by authorities. Deputies say a passenger in the vehicle, Bobby Whitis, proved to be the homeowner and had locked his keys in the house causing him to crawl through the window.

Upon further investigation, deputies learned there was an arrest warrant in force on Whitis from Trigg County for Failure to Appear. Before deputies placed Whitis in the patrol car, they reportedly found meth and drug paraphernalia on him. He was charged with 1st Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
