Trigg Students Take Active Role In Safety Discussion

With the ongoing focus on safety following the Marshall County School shooting and now the school shooting in Florida, Trigg County is talking it out. Students and parents were not shy about sharing their thoughts on school threats and the responses needed at a meeting Thursday night at the Way.

Sheriff Ray Burnam says building a relationship with students is important to stop incidents before they happen.

He adds one student had a suggestion about regular meetings one-on-one.

School Superintendent, Travis Hamby says they are putting together a task force on school safety.

The task force will meet February 27 at Trigg County High School’s media center.
