HES Investing In Infrastructure

Hopkinsville Electric System and Energynet is investing in its infrastructure as part of a commitment to the best customer service. General Manager Jeff Hurd says after 75 years, they are still committed to the customers.

He adds that the expansion of fiber services means new employees.

Of those 51, 6 are new hires who will work in the Help Desk. HES announced earlier this year that it was investing in fiber to become a Gig-City. Hurd says they are still fine tuning the plan but will begin where fiber is already in residential neighborhoods.

Kentucky has low electricity rates compared to surrounding states and Hopkinsville’s rate is less than the state average.

HES has a link on its website for anyone interested in gig fiber service. Hurd says just click the Gig-City link and express your interest.
