The demolition of the old Lake Barkley Bridge has been delayed. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd says the weather has pushed the demolition until next week.
Traffic was moved off of the old Lake Barkley Bridge Monday to the westbound lanes of the new Lake Barkley Bridge near Canton.
Todd said Monday a ribbon cutting and ceremony will be held once they are ready to open all four lanes of traffic on the bridge, much like was done for the Eggner’s Ferry Bridge.
