A Clarksville woman was arrested Tuesday on a warrant out of Christian County for allegedly kidnapping a minor. On February 6, the Christian District Court Arrest Complaint Warrant says 36-year old Kristin Stewart unlawfully picked up a 13-year old she knew that was a runaway from a placement in Louisville and then brought the child to the Department for Community Based Services in Hopkinsville asking for an Order to place the child with her. Stewart reportedly claimed to be a Level 3 Foster Parent in Tennessee. The warrant indicates Stewart had talked with a detective at the Louisville Metro Police Department who advised her that if she knew where the child was, let the Louisville Police know or bring the child to them. Instead, she reportedly brought the child to Hopkinsville.
According to the warrant, Stewart is not related to the child and advised that she contacted the child via Facebook.
Stewart was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
