Student Group Volunteer To Do Work At Jeffers Bend

A group of volunteers from Minnesota will be making a stop at Jeffers Bend Environmental Center in Hopkinsville this weekend to lend a helping hand. Delaney Egan of Students Today Leaders Forever, a youth service and leadership centered non-profit based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota contacted Jeffers Bend Director Charles Turner and said they would be stopping in Hopkinsville on Saturday, February 17. He says the volunteer group is made up of high school and college students.

He notes they have several projects lined up for the volunteers.

In addition, Turner says they have two storage sheds that need to be reorganized to better find and identify what they have as assets, and they have some porcelain plates they have on a wall made by children many years ago that need to be removed. He adds they welcome the volunteer work from the students.

The group will be coming from Carbondale, Illinois and passing through Hopkinsville on their way to Nashville, Tennessee. Turner says members of a church will be providing housing for the group to stay in Hopkinsville.
