A Hopkinsville couple was arrested Thursday afternoon for the theft of a vehicle from a car lot on Walnut Street. Police say 31-year old Mia Taylor dropped off her boyfriend, 33-year old Jonathan Lewis, at Truck Country and Auto Sales shortly before 11:00 Thursday morning to test drive a vehicle. Police say Lewis left the car lot in a 2010 Chevrolet Impala, but didn’t return it.
Police say they were able to track down the couple by getting the license plate number off of Taylor’s vehicle. They add employees at the car lot were able to identify the couple by pictures.
Officers located Lewis and Taylor at her home in the 300 block of Short 19th Street around 1:30 and the couple was taken into custody.
Both subjects were lodged in the Christian County Jail charged with Theft By Unlawful Transaction $500 or More But Under $10,000.
