Three Princeton Men Arrested On Drug, Burglary Charges

Three Princeton men are facing various charges after they were arrested by Princeton Police in separate incidents this week. The offenses range from possessing controlled substances and fleeing from police to burglary.

Princeton Police Chief Chris King reports officers responded to a disturbance Thursday morning around 3:30 in the 100 block of Oak Drive. Upon arrival, officers located 31-year old Bray Sherill shouting and acting disorderly. He was taken into custody and charged with Public Intoxication, 2nd Degree Disorderly Conduct, 2nd Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance, and 3rd Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Chief King indicates another arrest occurred around 10:00 Thursday morning after officers responded to a burglary complaint at Hometown Smokes on West Main Street where several cartons of cigarettes were stolen. He says officers were able to identify the suspect by reviewing surveillance video. Police arrested 43-year old Matthew Crowe, who they say confessed to the crime. He was charged with 3rd Degree Burglary.

On Monday, Chief King reports 26-year old Joshua Pavey was arrested before 2:00pm when officers tried to make a traffic stop on West Main Street and he led them on a short pursuit down Garrett and Washington streets before stopping and fleeing on foot. Pavey was apprehended and charged with 1st Degree Fleeing or Evading Police in a Motor Vehicle, 2nd Degree Fleeing or Evading Police on Foot, 1st Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Resisting Arrest, 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment, Driving on a Suspended or Revoked Operator's License, No Registration Plates, Reckless Driving, and No Insurance.
