Police say a Hopkinsville man has been arrested in connection to robbing and hitting his 95-year old mother over the weekend. Hopkinsville Police say officers were dispatched to a home in the 1500 block of Tate Street Saturday morning around 2:25 where the elderly victim stated two suspects forced their way into her house, hit her in the head and demanded money. She then handed over the money. When the report was taken by police, two suspects are listed but their information has been redacted by police at the time it was released.
Police arrested the victim's son, 52-year old David Quarles shortly before noon Tuesday. During an interview, officers say Quarles admitted he robbed his mother of $103, but that he didn't remember hitting her in the head because he was under the influence of crack cocaine.
Quarles was lodged in the Christian County Jail charged with 2nd Degree Robbery.
