The new Lake Barkley bridge along US 68-80 will likely be open by the middle of next week. Trigg County Judge Excutive Hollis Alexander made the announcement during his State of the County address to the Cadiz Rotary Club Tuesday.
Judge Alexander says that will be good news for Trigg County.
Alexander says he has been told two lanes of the new bridge will open first, with the remaining two lanes opening later this year. No date has been set for the complete opening of the new bridge or the demolition of the old bridge.
He says work is continuing to progress on the final section of the US 68 fourlane from Cadiz to Canton.
Alexander notes both projects could provide a huge economic boost for Cadiz and Trigg County.
