Trial Date Set For Crofton Arson Suspects

A trial date was set for the four former firefighters accused of setting a building in Crofton on fire. Jeremy Marlar, Glenn McGee, Dakota Oglesby, and Dylan Hodge face various charges including 1st Degree Arson. Christian Circuit Judge John Atkins set their trial for the week of August 27. Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney, Maggie Gigandet says she’s asked the four defense attorneys to get her flash drives so she can get them the evidence in the case.

19-year old Dakota Oglesby, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on 2nd Degree Arson and 3rd Degree Burglary charges. 19-year old Dylan Hodge, of Crofton, was indicted for 2nd Degree Arson. 27-year old Jeremy Marlar, of Crofton, was indicted for 1st Degree Official Misconduct and 2nd Degree Arson. 23-year old Glen McGee was indicted for 2nd Degree Arson, 1st Degree Official Misconduct, and 3rd Degree Burglary.

Surveillance footage from two businesses in the vicinity was collected by State Police and reportedly shows three men entering the building twice. When they leave the second time, Police say fire can be seen on the footage behind them. The surveillance footage reportedly shows Marlar driving past the fire, and then all four walking to the scene and watching the building burn for several minutes. Police say the video footage shows them all leaving and then 10 minutes later arriving with the fire truck, which was just across the road.

That footage is among the evidence yet to be turned over to defense attorneys.
