Trigg Students Pray For Marshall County

Prayers were lifted up Wednesday morning at Trigg County High School for the families, victims, and friends of students at Marshall County High School. Fellowship of Christian Athletes organized a short service in the Little Theater in the wake of a shooting tragedy in which two teenagers were fatally shot and 20 others wounded.

FCA President Autumn Stewart encouraged approximately 70 students and teachers to turn to a higher power for help and comfort.

Stewart also shared passages of scripture.

In addressing Tuesday’s events, Trigg High School football coach Colby Lewis says all hit their knees when they pray in times of tragedy. Visibly emotional, Lewis shared a short personal story and issued a challenge to everyone in the room.

Before dismissing for classes, students gathered in small groups, held hands, and offered up prayers. Walking through the crowd, one could hear students asking for comfort, guidance, and peace for those left in the wake of the tragedy.

Investigators are still working the scene at Marshall County High School and are expected to for the next several days. Meanwhile, officials have yet to release the name of the shooter or a motive.
