Novelis Automotive Finishing Plant Coming To Guthrie

A new automotive finishing plant is coming to Guthrie. Novelis, Inc. announced Tuesday it will build an approximately $300 million automotive aluminum sheet manufacturing facility. The facility will include heat treatment and pre-treatment lines, which prepare for aluminum for use in vehicle parts. Novelis, the world leader in aluminum rolling and recylcing, says they expect to break ground in Guthrie in early spring and the expansion will create approximately 125 new jobs. The manufacturing facility is slated to open in 2020.

According to Novelis officials, this investment is the latest addition to its extensive network of automotive finish lines. More than 200 different models on the road today feature Novelis aluminum, including Ford, General Motors, Jaguar, Land Rover, and Toyota.
