School Officials Say Social Media Fueled Anxiety After Threats

Social Media may have added to the anxiety about school threats after a Christian County High School student made an alleged threat earlier this week. During a conversation with the News Edge, Gemmill says students and staff were never in danger earlier this week.

Gemmill adds when a threat is made, school officials have to take it seriously.

She says if there had been a threat, steps would have quickly been taken to protect students and staff.

One student was detained and charged following the initial threat was made near the end of the school day Monday, with two students detained and charged Tuesday by school officials and School Resource Officer Michelle Kent.
