The 101st Airborne Division will be deploying this spring. The Headquarters Team will be taking command of Operation Freedom's Sentinel in Afghanistan from the 3rd Infantry Division. Commanding General, Major General Andrew Poppas says "the Division remains ready to answer the call to fight and win our nation's wars."
This will be the Headquarters fourth deployment to Afghanistan in the last decade. He says they know the terrain, the partners, and the mission. Poppas adds the Screaming Eagles are always ready for their next "Rendezvous with Destiny."
