Richards Not Seeking Another Term In House

Former Kentucky House Speaker Jody Richards will not seek another term in office. Richards has served in the Kentucky General Assembly for 42 years and served as Speaker of the House for 12 years.

In a statement released Monday, Representative Richards says it has been an unbelievable honor to represent the Bowling Green-Warren County community for 42 years.

Richards was House Speaker when the Kentucky Education Reform Act was passed in 1990 and when Higher Education Reform passed in 1997. Richards was also instrumental in the creation of the Gatton Academy at Western Kentucky University.
