Crews Continue Leaf Collection In Hopkinsville

City officials are reminding residents that the Hopkinsville Solid Waste Authority is making their second pass through town for leaf collection. The annual leaf collection started in November and crews have already completed their first pass through the city. City officials says crews appreciate your patience as they continue to collect leaves and note some areas where leaves fell later this season may take longer to complete.

If you want to find out what areas of town crews are working in and when, you can visit hoptown.org/leaves for the latest schedule of collection zones and other helpful guidelines during leaf season. City residents are also reminded that residential garbage and trash collection routes will continue unaffected during leaf collection season.

To better help speed up leaf collections, officials have offered the a few guidelines.
– Be ready on collection day.
– Place leaves curbside and in your yard, not in drainage ditches, on sidewalks or edges of driveways and streets.
– Do not wet leaves.
– Do not place leaves over water meter covers or other obstructions.
– Do not mix leaves with limbs, brush, sticks, trash, rocks, bricks or the like.
– Do not block leaf piles with vehicles.
