A political newcomer is seeking one of the constable positions in Christian County. James Smith filed to run for the District 5 post Tuesday in the County Clerk's office.
Smith says he wants to put his experience in law enforcement to work as constable.
Smith filed as a Democrat and will challenge incumbent Mark Graham in the May primary election.
