122 Acres On Concord Annexed Into Hopkinsville

Property on the north side of Hopkinsville will soon be part of the city. The City Council voted Tuesday night to approve the first reading of the annexation of property on Concord Lane. City Administrator Nate Pagan says it was at the request of Planter's Bank, which is executor of the estate.

The land has already been divided into plots for housing and several improvements were made on the property over the last five years. The 122 acres belong to the E. G. Adams estate.

In other business, the City Council made the beginning of the year appointments to various boards and commissions. Those appointments can be found here.

It also recognized retiring Police Lieutenant Chris Aldridge and Fire Battalion Chief Jon Burke. The two men have spent the better part of two decades serving the community. Both were recognized at smaller ceremonies within their departments before the City Council meeting. Hopkinsville Mayor Carter Hendricks also swore in newly promoted Battalion Chief Kirt Williams.
