Logan County Juvenile Charged In Fatal Fire

A Logan County juvenile is in custody for starting a fire in June that caused the death of an Auburn man. According to the Logan County Sheriff's Department, a 16 year-old male juvenile was taken into custody December 29th and charged with Murder and Arson 1st degree.

The teen is charged in connection to a fire June 7, 2017, that claimed the life of Jerry Caudill. The juvenile was taken to the Warren County Juvenile Detention Center.

According to media reports, the house fire also sent Logan County Sheriff Wallace Whittacker to Logan Memorial Hospital for smoke inhalation. Whittacker went into the burning home twice to try and locate Caudill.

The investigatigation into the fire was a joint effort between the Logan County Sheriff's Department, Russellville Police Department and the Department of Children Base Services.
